Description:

An adult golden-mantled ground squirrel is 23 to 30 centimetres (9.1–12 in) in length. They are tan/gray in coloration with black and light colored stripes on the back, lighter on the bottom.

Habitat:

Rocky mountain meadows and sagebrush flats.
