Field Notes
Description:
The Allutacea Fig plant (Ficus allutacea) is a root climber which grows on a host tree until it reaches certain height to spread the branches. This species is widespread across Southeast Asia but very rare in Borneo.
Habitat:
Growing on a host tree in a primary rainforest.
Notes:
So far these photos are the only photos of the fresh fruits available online. Borneo have over 150 native fig species and I have documented 1/3 of it together with 1StopBorneo Wildlife expeditions.
