Description:
Red-brown in colour, about 10 mm long, with long legs.
Habitat:
Spotted during a day walk at KL Forest Eco Park, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia, an urban park located at the middle of the city.
Oecophylla smaragdina is a species of arboreal ant found in tropical Asia and Australia.
These ants form colonies with multiple nests in trees, each nest being made of leaves stitched together using the silk produced by the ant larvae.
Notes:
