Field Notes

Description:

An attractive little skipper with a wing span of about 40 mm. The underside of wings had black triangular markings on white. Abdomen had black and white stripes.

Habitat:

Spotted feeding on Leptospermum.

This species is found in temperate grasslands, east and south of the Great Dividing Range.

Notes:

A very active skipper. I was lucky to get this shot as it did not rest for more than a few seconds.
The larvae of these skippers feed on Sedges Carex and Gahnia

Subfamily: Trapezitinae
