Description:

These chicks of the Spur-winged Plover are only a couple of days old. They start to feed themselves a few hours after hatching. The nest is made on a bare patch of ground so the chicks are camouflaged with spots and so it can be quite difficult to see them until they move.

Habitat:

urban garden bordering a coastal wildlife corridor
