6cm Nudibranch with foot exposed.

Habitat:

Crawling over a sponge

Notes:

Nudibranchs use a combination of cillia and muscle contraction for locomotion, depending on the life stage and species. They also have specialised cells on the base of their foot that are able to secrete unbelievable amounts of mucus secretions. This enables them to crawl on any surface.
