Field Notes

Description:

It is a mint green color and it's kind of crusty.

Habitat:

By the side of the road in the woods. There was snow on the ground and it was extremely cold out.

Notes:

We found lichen on trees in the forest next to the road. There was snow on the ground. It was very cold and I couldn’t feel my hands. The wind was very harsh. The lichen was a mint green color, and it was kind of crusty. There was a lot of it on most of the trees in the woods. The Kingdom is fungi, division is Ascomycota, class is Lecanoromycetes. I believe it is a form of Foliose.
