Field Notes

Description:

I found this big mantis on my friend's backpack while we were out playing disc golf. It was about 4.5 inches in length an had a very nice green colour.

Habitat:

This mantis came out of the University of Guelph's Arboretum. It was found while walking through tall grass on a hot, humid summer day.

Notes:

It did not want to get of the bag, but we managed without injury to the creature.

As with your other Mantis spotting, I am fairly confident that this is a European Mantis and I would love to see this in the Marvelous Mantids of the North East mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/15738247
