Hi Ron! Definitely a female, but I think this is a Yellow-sided Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula flavida). Contrast the pterostigmata of Spangled- (two-toned) and Yellow-sided Skimmers (solid color); your dragon matches the latter. http://bugguide.net/node/view/28133
