Field Notes

Description:

A large golden-brown bell-shaped mushroom about 6 inches in diameter. The stem is mostly white with small brown warts (scaly). There are crowded gills hidden behind a partial veil.

Habitat:

Spotted at the edge of a road in Mason County, Washington State.
