Description:

A juvenile black rat snake fouhd on a hike near Elk City Park here in Kansas. Always excited to find native snake species.

Habitat:

Native to the Eastern US, adults of this species are sometimes mistaken for eastern black racers, or coluber constrictor constrictor.
