floridagirl, in the background of the photo you can see what looks to be a Spot-billed Pelican, which isn't native to Illinois. Also, if you look at Leslie's other spottings, they appear to be taken in captivity also.
Did you spot this in the wild in Illinois? Because that would put this bird many hundreds of miles north of its range, which is the southeastern coast.
