Description:
The dog rose is a spiny shrub no more than 3 meters tall of compound leaves with serrated edge, white or pink flowers and red ovoid fruits.
Its scientific name comes from Latin and means "rose of dogs", which alludes to the shape of its spines that resemble the tusks of dogs or because it was believed to be effective against rabies.
