Field Notes
Notes:
Taking photos or woodpeckers can be hard. Like most birds, they tend not to stay still for very long. Red-bellieds are a little easier to shoot than others. Maybe it is their size...they don't seem to be as jittery...or maybe it is their determination at getting to food; whatever the reason, I find it more enjoyable to photograph them than the other woodpeckers I come across. This little girl gave me several good shots.
