Field Notes

Description:

Black and white striped antennae, a white/silver line around both wings, blue and purple iridescent wings with black veins running diagonally. About the size of a quarter.

Habitat:

Found in an alpine meadow near Mt. Jefferson in Oregon, feeding on a Douglas Aster.

Not positive on this but check the reference, it is an Oregon butterfly and is endangered. Nice spotting. Welcome to PN
