They must have escaped some long time ago becouse I know them to live around here for at least twenty years. They use to live in one parc in Amsterdam but now a days they are all over Holland. I like them, they make me long for the warm summers :)

Ok, thought they needed warmer climate... But they aren't native. I once saw one in my garden (I think it was the same, never got a photo) and thought it had escaped from captivity. Maybe it is an invasive species, adopting to European climate....

No, there are hundreds of them living around here. They even breed here, as you can see.
