Field Notes

Description:

The Fruticose lichen is a really bushy and bristly. It's white on the top and near the bottom it's light green. It grows on little sticks and branches.

Habitat:

It lives in the forest and grows on damp and little branches. It can live all winter long. There very strong and lives almost any where. It can live in the cold and the worm weather.

Notes:

When we went outside were looking for lichen. It’s 12:00pm. It rained last night and the snow is crusty and hard on the top.We had 15 cm of snow and the trees were all icy with a thin layer. The lichen we found was about half up the tree and it stuck out of the tree like 4 or 5 cm. When we went outside it was degrees Celsius. As we were outside there was about 20 cm of frost under ground. The color of the lichen was puke yellow with a bit of white. The yellow was mostly strong in the mid section. The lichen was very fuzzy and fluffy.
