Field Notes

Description:

A pale silken bag moth case about 45mm long with a dome shaped upper part gradually tapering towards the lower end. It was attached to a gum leaf by silk.
The case was ribbed along its length and stuck to the outer side were a few bits of dried flower buds and small twigs.

Habitat:

Open eucalyptus forest

Notes:

This case moth seemed so clean and tidy compared to some others. The male moth is stated to be black with transparent wings - would be great to see one !
