Rhizocarpon geographicum
43.5827, -70.7007
Field Notes
Description:
Map lichen normally looks like a map and although it maybe hard to see in the picture the lichen I found did resemble in a map kind of look. This lichen I found was covered by moss on a oak tree. It was a orange color and kind flat on the tree when you looked at it closely you could see a kind of map style in the Lichen which give me a more better assumption that it is map lichen I am not completely sure but that is what I believe it is.

Notes:
We have been assigned to identify lichen because our teacher, Mr. Parent, wants to try and identify all the wildlife on our campus and he took us out into the woods to try and find lichen. This lichen I found was covered by moss on a oak tree. It was a orange color and kind flat on the tree when you looked at it closely you could see a kind of map style in the Lichen which give me a more better assumption that it is map lichen I am not completely sure but that is what I believe it is.
