Field Notes

Description:

It is a medium sized grasshopper with a green color to the thorax and abdomen. Around the eyes there is some yellow and dark green. It was about 30 mm. long. Seemed to be a fully grown nymph about to shed into an adult specimen.

Habitat:

Suburban, Fort Worth, Texas. Sitting on some Okra plants.

Notes:

It is native to North America, where it occurs in the eastern United States, Mexico, and the Bahamas. It was a female specimen.
