Description:

A wonderfully monstrous Ambush Bug that was found waiting for prey on a large yellow flower. It was very well camouflaged within the composite part of the flower. These are usually very small, this one was about 6 mm in length, colored in yellows and browns. Subfamily Phymatinae of the Family Reduviidae.

Habitat:

Found along the highway between San Cristobal and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 18.5, at 1164 meters elevation.
