Field Notes

Description:

Very hairy little spider. About the size of a nickel. Wonderful spot design on its head, back and abdomen. You can actually notice when the spider is looking straight at you as the reflection of light dims down quite a bit.

Habitat:

Anywhere really.

Notes:

I really like these sorts of spiders, because they are quite intelligent. They'll track your finger, and follow it around, almost like a cat follows a laser dot. I love watching these little guys because they always seem comical when they walk around, stop and search around 360 degrees before continuing on.

ha! Yea these little guys are awesome. I actually prefer the black ones with the white spot on its back. Those guys are a little more active than these ones, but still I love Jumping Spiders. Just really social spiders.

This is my favorite genus of spider! This species has really cool patterns on it. Unfortunately for me, they're not here in Cali.
