Description:

On 1/19/12 we went outside to see if we could find lichen, it was 0 degrees Celsius, and the wind speed was 45 kilometers per hour. I found lichen we went far back in the woods it was on a big rock the color was light green, and bushy and kind of crusty. I think my lichen is Common Green Shield or the scientific name is Flavorparmelia Caperata.I believe it is Flavoparmelia Caperata because it is greenish yellow. The day was really cold and windy the day we went out. I saw a lot of the Flavorparmelia Caperata but I didn’t see any that was on a rock besides mine. I believe that the lichen is Flavorparmelia Caperata .This is the site that I used to identify my lichen:
