Alex the Bugman
Probably an Agelenopsis grass spider (family Agelenidae), which builds a sheet web with a funnel shaped retreat at one end. Note the long spinnerets at its posterior. Wolf spiders do not build webs to ensnare prey, and have smaller, less fingerlike spinnerets. Looks like a female, and she is dead.
