Field Notes

Description:

Large goose with black and white head, black neck, white breast and lower body, gray upper body.

Habitat:

Lakes, ponds and rivers

Notes:

Due to the mild winter some of these geese were winter residents which is a bit unusual. There has been a large increase in the number of these birds, as well as the appearance of other species of geese, ducks and gulls. This may indicate an early migration north.
