Gordon,here in California, I was told by the Mt Diablo Ranger that we have Fox Squirrel X Western Gray squirrel Hybrids. The Gray were the originals and the Fox were brought in.
Indiana has both gray and fox squirrels, but this one has quite a bit of the gold/red on the legs which leads me to believe this is a fox squirrel.
