Field Notes

Description:

Tree with seed pods about the size of the last digit on a finger. On its end, there's a " + " or cross shape. The leaves are long and slender. Those in this series are torn up as this branch was cut and was laying on the ground.

Habitat:

On the ground nest to the shore of Sandy Lake. I could not find the tree it came from until a later date. The rest of the tree can be seen at http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8956536
