Very Endanger species due to over harvesting, very slow growing. A filter feeder.

Habitat:

Shallow sandy bottom.

Lovely! They are truly remarkable creatures.
Somehow they are just too shallow and easy to harvest Leuba, and people here ate them RAW.
I hope something is being done to protect this species. another attractive clam - thanks for sharing.
