Description:

This black scale is the female insect and is clinging on to a leaf and protecting her young underneath her as revealed in Pic 1 and 3
They are parthenogenic and there are no males.

Habitat:

Attrached singly to Goodenia sp. leaves. They were scarce and no young instars were noticed
