Black kite
Milvus migrans
33.5733, 73.0807
Field Notes
Description:
A black kite in a noon time glide over the city
Habitat:
Poorly organised nests and communal roosts
Notes:
It's a scavenger bird and an opportunistic feeder. These birds compete for food with the jackdaws but neither species is on the losing side. The low flying jackdaws are usually the early birds at a scavenger fest followed by the high gliding kites that drive them away.
