Description:

This pelican is the largest of the pelicans.

Adult dalmatian pelican has a silvery-white plumage and an orange-red pouch under its bill. However, the plumage turns to white or grey in winter and the pouch fades to yellow as the breeding season progresses.

Habitat:

Reed beds, open space on islands in river deltas and coastal lagoons, inland freshwater wetlands.
