Description:

Hard, calcium-bearing algae. May appear to be a rock or coral, hence the name. There are encrusting and branching varieties. Species are difficult to tell apart.

Habitat:

Mid-Lower intertidal

Notes:

lots of this stuff here, hence the name of the nearby Coral Street!
