Field Notes

Description:

All Passionflowers are New World species, so I was really surprised to see one flowering in beside a rice field on my way to Ujung Kulon national park. Definitely doesn't belong here.

Habitat:

scrubland, forest edge

Notes:

I did not expect to see a passionflower in SE Asia. Must have been an escapee from someone's garden, even though there wasn't much in the way of gardens in the area.
