Description:
Easily recognised by the speckled underbelly - the speckles are "V" shaped, distinguishing it from the similar mistle thrush. Has a very sweet voice. Found here all year round, but I've found it's more noticeable at this time of year. Sadly, their numbers have been declining over the years due to intensive farming, and they have been given Red Status by the RSPB (meaning at least 50% decline in breeding population over the last 25 years in the UK).
Habitat:
Hedgerows, woodland, gardens... anywhere there are trees and bushes.
Notes:
They were easy to spot against the white snow. I've seen a few of these around where I live for a while now, but only got a photo today. Pleasant to hear them singing away!
