Description:

Also known as Bulb Anemone, Bubble-tip Anemone, and Corn Anemone. This hexacoral is known to host 13 species of anemonefish, as well as several species of commensal shrimp. It feeds on plankton, and can grow to about 40cm in width.

Habitat:

Found on coral and rocky reefs, at depths of 5 to 25m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.

Notes:

The last photo shows the fish peeking from underneath the tentacles. That Clark's anemonefish (Amphiprion clarkii) calls this sea anemone home. Spotted this at a depth of about 40 feet.
