Description:

Medium size, slender with strikingly long spatulate bill. Feeds by skimming water with bill. (from The Sibley Guide to Birds by David Allen Sibley)

Habitat:

Water recharge pond on the east side of Chandler Veteran's Oasis Park near Chandler Heights Blvd. and Gilbert Road.

Notes:

Found these birds mixed in with some Least Sandpipers, Black Necked Stilts, American Coots, and Green Winged Teals.
