Field Notes

Description:

tall tree with glossy but supple leaves; soft bell-shaped fruit and shockingly pink powder-puff flowers

Habitat:

spotted in small city park

Notes:

When we walked into the park I thought there had been some sort of celebration with mass quantities of pink confetti. Everything in the vicinity of the big tree was covered in a fine layer of pink thread-like flower petals.

Added a fourth photo of the pink petals covering the ground. Quite the sight.
