Field Notes

Description:

Red and black insect of Order Hemiptera, about one inch long.

Habitat:

Developed lowland area within the Great Salt Lake ecosystem of the basin and range region of the western United States.

Notes:

Spotted at a fuel station on the inside of the passenger door window of a caravan (RV). One of the images is severely backlit because it was of necessity taken looking into a rising sun. The bug flew off before better images could be recorded.
