Field Notes
Notes:
This is my observation of the lichen i observed on January 14, 2012 at MMS-our group/class went outside and my group found some lichen on a few trees next to each other in the woods and I think the trees were pine trees.
The lichen I observed had a rough texture, green color.
It was very cold outside about 0 degrees out there was about 7-10 cm of snow on the ground and very windy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where we found the lichen was at the edge of the woods on a hill a little farther down the road to MMS.
Evidence 1-This lichen has very broad lobes with a very wrinkly substance.
Evidence 2-The lichen was growing on the sides of the tree in patches, just like the Flavoparmelia Caperata grows.
Evidence 3-I measured the height of the lichen it was a 15cm patch like the Flavoparmelia Caperata grows.
