Field Notes

Description:

Yellow sugary lerp insects attract ants to their honeydew. An overturned cluster (pic #2 and 3) reveals two of the builders as nymphs. As winged adults they leave home. Note also the usual cluster of tiny eggs.

Notes:

The two tenants within the overturned lerps appear to actually be the exuvia of the adult insects. I will need to look under a microscope.
