looks like this earthworm has had its fill of mud.The rains brought out a lot of these.

Achmmad ,that is new info for me! It might be able to cure Typhus,because of its anti bacterial or Bacterial properties. i will have to research that!
@Emma: But some people do Emma, they believe that it can cure typhus! May be you've know it too :)
I f you are thinking in terms of edibility promise you will not be disappointed. It is full of mud though. i have dissected these creatures as a part of my science curriculum.
So, if you mail me one of these, and it looks like your pic, I might be tempted to eat it. Are you sure this is not photoshopped?

Greg,this is the most important worm on earth . Very important for our existence As the name suggests it eats earth and therefore it is called Earth worm!
Ours are just a dull single color of yuck, not tooty fruity - LOL
