Field Notes

Notes:

This Cardinal and two others were walking in my yard eating spilled seeds and the flock of Red-winged blackbirds flew in. Two Cardinals flew low and hard into the Pines behind my house. This male could only escape to the much smaller, and in the middle of the flocks' landing zone. He hung tight for a few minutes until the flock scattered to the Pines in the front yard. Then he took off towards the backyard, making his safe escape.
