Field Notes

Description:

A small colorful caterpillar with eight projected clumps of bristles. A pair of bright warning stripes form a saddle along the center of the insect. The insect can withdraw the bristles (Pic#2) when the threat has passed.

Habitat:

On a large manna gum leaf.
