Description:

My lichen is not very big and it looks kind of crusty it is light green with little white dots.

Habitat:

I found my lichen on a tree in the woods I think the tree is oak and it was pretty high up on the tree.

On 1-18-12 we went outside around noon. There is 15 cm of snow and it rained the day before.The wind speed was 20 mph and gusts were 30 mph . The temperature was 1.7 degrees celcius. We went outside to look for lichen. We know that it is usually found on trees so that was the first place we looked. Some types are green and look like hair growing on the tree.I think I found Parmelia sulcata . Parmelia sulcata isn’t very big and it growes in patches on a tree. It is crustose. We found it on a tree. It was light green, with white patches on it. The tree thst we found it on was an oak. The laittude was 43.581449 degrees, and the longitude -70.701920. And it looks kind of scaley. I found it high up on the tree but a little was found on the bottom to.
