Description:

The Purple Glossy Starling is a resident breeder in tropical Africa from Senegal and north Zaire east to Sudan and west Kenya. Like most starlings, it is fairly omnivorous, eating fruit and insects.

Habitat:

Savannah woodlands, especially with fruiting figs. Open woodland and cultivation. Occurs up to 1500m.
