Nice, we're coming to Sarasota in a few weeks and hope to see these guys there!
No family there. Just celebrated a landmark birthday on the beach. It was perfect! If I visit again, I'll be sure to watch out for the Snowy Plovers for you.
If you lived here I was trying to sign you up to protect the Snowy Plovers on Siesta Key..that's what bird stewards do. Glad you enjoyed Selby! Do you have family here?
Hi ceherzog, Thanks for the ID. I was in Siesta Key for a couple of days in December. ( I enjoyed the Selby Botanical Gardens during my visit.) My home is Maine. What is a bird steward?
Hi Laura...this is most likely a Sanderling....we don't see Semi-Palmated Sandpipers ( I can't say NEVER) in Sarasota...sometimes Western Sandpipers. Where exactly are you spotting birds? Are you interested in becoming a bird steward? ...maybe you already are?
