ORDEN: Passeriformes FAMILIA: Passeridae . Ave originaria de Europa, fue traida a América por diversas personas, quizás como ave exótica. Quizás, porque no es un ave de canto melódico ni bellos colores. Introducido en Chile en 1904, se propagó con gran rapidez y fuerza, y en algunos años ya poblaba en abundancia la zona central. Hoy habita en todo el territorio y en islas en donde ha sido llevado. Poco amigo del campo, suele preferir los lugares poblados por el hombre. Su alimentación consiste en insectos durante la época de reproducción, y semillas y granos durante el resto del tiempo. I like how they are using their tail feathers as props. It is similar to a woodpecker. Nice shots.
