Field Notes

Description:

Up to 2,5m length, weight up to 400kg, lifespan 30-40 years. Breading period from April to June, gestation period 7-8 months, give births to 1 rarely 2 cubs. Their diet is omnivore, eating mainly roots, fungi, berries, fish and small mammals, they rarely hunt actively large mammals...
Very good sense of smell and hear. They swim and can climb trees.
This one was a 200kg female.

Habitat:

In forests from 500 to 2500m altitude.

Notes:

This one was in the wild, but they are encouraged to came to feed in a clearing where you can stay in a small wooden structure and wait for them... They come almost every day usually in the evening, so the light it's not ideal for photos...
