Field Notes

Description:

this is a conk ( young bracket ) or imatured crust-fungus. the colors can completly change, while it's maturing further, it has different surfaces above and beneath the cap, the underside isn't really clear: if it is growing mycelium or already a pore-surface. It is too vague to conclude an id. BUT it is very nice, as an appartement for mice or other animals, included with weather/rain-protection !!

Notes:

suggestion appreciated !!

thanks emma, but because it is to immature for an id, was it thought to be a funny-find (which you're free to find intressting, for the "second" time) :)
btw. thanks cindy. Yours is also cool, from fungi-view.
So cool! Do you think I have the same thing going on minus the bracket? http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8892891
This is so amazing! One form of life supporting another and that too a fungus!!
