Description:

By Hannah Belanger

On January 18,2012 me and my since class went out and looked for lichen. The wind temp was 32º. We took lichen photos on the campus. There was snow on the ground and it was very windy and cold that my hands turned red. We were out there for like a half an hour. We found some lichen but we also found some animals prints that were really small. The lichen was kind of crusty and soft
so it kind of had a strange feeling. It also had a strange color to it like a green and white mixed. The lichen was on
a tree in the woods. It looked like it was spreading on the tree. It was part way up the tree trunk. I believe the lichen we found is Parmelia sulcata.

Kingdom: Fungi
Division: Ascomycota
